"And Gerald Clayton from California, also 22 and the son of the bassist John Clayton, came to destroy: his playing had huge, authoritative presence, an Oscar Peterson-like style, highly controlled touch and dynamics and rhapsodic, episodic soloing. (The audience broke into applause during his solo.)"

Greetings everyone!
I hope you're enjoying this summer season as much as I am. I've been busy traveling the world and playing with some wonderful musicians. Life is good!

I'm very happy to announce that I recently recorded my first album with my trio. It will be released under the Artist Share label. Artist Share is a new concept which allows fans to show appreciation for their favorite artists by funding their recording projects in exchange for access to the creative process. If you are interested in contributing to my Artist Share project, please send me a note in the contact page. I will be happy to send you more information on how you can help.
Thanks for your love and support!
Peace,
Gerald

Hello friends!
Thanks for visiting. I hope you're staying warm as the winter season rolls in.
I've spent the past few weeks hangin in the city (New York that is). What a pleasure it is to go out every night and hear creative music. Truly inspiring.
I'm looking forward to some great upcoming gigs. Next week I'll be at the Village Vanguard with Roy Hargrove. If you don't have any Thanksgiving plans, get yourself a turkey sandwich and check us out.
For all my west coast homies, I'll be in Los Angeles throughout most of December :) I'm really looking forward to spending some quality time with family and friends.
Please visit the calendar page for all my gig details. I hope to see you soon.
Peace!

Hello friends
Thanks for visiting my site.
I hope you all are enjoying the spring season as much as I am.

I am still in the process of moving my life from Los Angeles to New York. So at the moment I'm living out of suitcases, using cardboard boxes as tables, and unfortunately practicing on a keyboard (aaaah!!!!). I need to get a piano in my apartment immediately, because I've got some serious piano work to tackle this week.

On May 22nd, I will be going to Japan for the 100 Gold Fingers Piano Tour. This annual event brings together 10 pianists to play 14 shows throughout Japan. Some of the other pianists this year will be Kenny Barron, Junior Mance, Cedar Walton, and Benny Green. I am extremely honored to be a part of this tour, and I'm totally excited to see Japan for the first time.

If you're in the New York area in June, keep a look out for me. I'll be on the scene, playing gigs, and checking out the sessions. You can always check my calendar to see where I'll be.

Have a great day!
Peace,
GC
